Murphy Opportunity District (MODs)

As part of the City of Murphy's Master Plan, several locations across the city were identified as areas requiring special attention. The Murphy Opportunity Districts (MODs) provide site-specific visions that outlines a vision that the City believes are most appropriate for these locations. Below you can view these MODs and the site specific recommendations.

What is a Master Plan?

A Master Plan is a policy statement that says what the city desires for itself from a physical development standpoint. Without such a statement, staff and officials have no guideposts for long-term goals.

What does a Master Plan include?

  •  Future Land Use
    • What goes where?
  • Mobility Plan (formerly Thoroughfare Plan)
    • How do we best get around our city?
  • Urban Design, Corridor, Gateway, and Wayfinding Plan
    • How should our main entries and throughfares look?
  • Economic Development and Redevelopment
    • What kind of business and developments do we need?
