Community Survey Overview

The City of Murphy has released the results of its Citizen Survey conducted by during the month of October 2024.  Working with OnPointe Insights, the city was able to gauge residents’ opinions on quality of life, development/ growth, services provided by the city, and priorities for the future. The survey was designed to be quick, easy, and convenient for residents to take from a laptop, tablet or mobile device.  Residents were contacted via email, social media and through the city website.

Survey Result Highlights

• 1,146 survey respondents
• Most survey respondents (62%) have lived in the Murphy for more than 10 years.
• Murphy citizens tend to agree that the city is heading the right direction (74%).
• Most people feel the city has either stayed the same (44%) or improved (35%) in the past three years.
• Citizens love the safety they feel in Murphy as well as the clean surroundings, and family friendly community.
• Most residents were concerned with growth and traffic, and about a third of residents were concerned about losing the small town feel and high cost of living.
