MURPHY, Texas (November 30, 2024) - One of the most cherished traditions in the fire department is in full swing. This annual collection benefits the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County. New, unwrapped toys are currently being collected in the Fire Department Lobby from 8am to 8pm until December 6th.
The last opportunity to donate a toy is at Murphy’s Christmas in the Park event. This year it will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 2 - 6pm. The fire department squad will be onsite near the Murphy tree featured in the tree lighting ceremony. Cash donations will be accepted at this event.
“The Children’s Advocacy Center provides a safe place for children who are reported as abused or neglected in Collin County. They provide a safe place for law enforcement and other health professionals to help children get the assistance they need.” commented Drex Dorman, Murphy Fire Rescue Administrative Captain. “The feeling we have when dropping off the donated toys is simply indescribable. We appreciate our community for their continued support for this cause.”
