Water boil notice now officially rescinded by Murphy
Multiple testing proves water safe for use
MURPHY (September 12, 2022) Following a series of exhaustive tests on the quality of water, the City of Murphy has issued a statement rescinding the boil water notice.
The rescind notice is effective immediately and allows for users of Murphy-supplied water to resume its utilization for all purposes without the need for boiling or other mitigation.

Boil Water Notice Rescinded
09/12/2022
On 09/10/2022, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Murphy public water system, Public Water System Identification Number 0430042 to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of 09/12/2022.
