Vendor applications for Maize Days to be accepted
MURPHY (May 20, 2016) Murphy’s signature fall festival, Murphy Maize Days, will start accepting applications for all types of vendors on Monday, May 23, says Kayla McFarland, Special Events Coordinator for the City of Murphy.
“Maize Days has grown exponentially over the last several years, and the demand for booth space has accelerated as well,” she said. “Many vendors are anxious to get their fall plans in place, and so we are opening the application process as early as we can.”
Food vendors as well as market vendor applications will be accepted starting on Monday, May 23, and booths will be assigned to those that meet the criteria on a first-come, first-serve basis. Interested vendors can only apply online at www.murphymaizedays.com.
“Food vendors will, of course, be required to demonstrate an ability to serve food items throughout the day’s event, and must meet all health department requirements for a safe, sanitary operation,” she said.
Market vendors may sell items of any category, with preference on craft, handmade or unique keepsake items. Many visitors to the fall festival make it a point to conduct their holiday shopping at the Maize Market booths.
Murphy Maize Days is always held on the last Saturday in September, this year falling on Sept. 24. For the first time, the festival will occupy Murphy Central Park, on the north end of Murphy PSA, 550 N. Murphy Road, rather than the grassy mall facing the entrance to City Hall.
The festival opens at 10 a.m. and continues until 8:30 p.m. with continuous live music, a Kid Zone and an array of local talent at the popular Community Stage.
