Weather cancels portions of Howl-O-Ween event
Movie and games in MCC gym still on

MURPHY (October 21, 2015) Due to expected foul weather conditions on Saturday, the Murphy Howl=O=Ween event has been cancelled, according to Special Events personnel. The event was originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24.

While the Murphy Animal Shelter will not open as originally planned, residents are encouraged to attend the scheduled Moonlight Movie in the Murphy Community Center gym.

The movie, “Hotel Transylvania,” an animated feature film, is set for showing at 7:30 p.m.

In addition to the free movie, popcorn and drinks, planners have arranged for a face painter, candy, and games to entertain attendees from 7 p.m. until the start of the movie.

Kayla McFarland, Special Events Coordinator says families can still make it a fun evening. “We’re suggesting that families pack their dinners in a picnic basket and bring it along with their blankets and lawn chairs to the movie. We’ll still have lots of fun in spite of the weather,” she said.
