The nature trail at Timbers Nature Preserve is closed until further notice due to damage from the recent rains.
Timbers Nature Preserve Park
Timbers Nature Preserve was formerly known as Murphy City Park (12.4-acres) was the first park built in Murphy over 12 years ago. This site has now been combined with the adjacent 16.9-acre Bunny Run Park property. The combined parks were renamed Timbers Nature Preserve Park (30 acres).
Today visitors can enjoy:
- 26 total acres of parkland
- 9 acres of developed parkland
- 17 acres of nature preserve area
- Restroom facilities
- 2 covered playgrounds
- - (1) 2-5 year old playground
- - (1) 5-12 year old playground
- 3 baseball practice areas with backstops
- Basketball Court
- Small pavilion with grill – 2 picnic tables
- 2 individual picnic areas with grills
- Large pavilion with grill – 5 picnic tables
- 1.25 acre pond
- Approx. 1.3 miles of soft surface walking trails
- Approx. 0.5 miles of concrete loop trail
- Approx. 1 mile of 14' wide hike and bike trail (10' concrete/4' asphalt) that connects into Plano's trail system and connects to Breckenridge Park in Richardson
