Inspection Scheduling
- Inspection requests submitted by 2:00 p.m. will be reviewed for scheduling on the next business day.
- During periods of high permit activity, requests may be delayed beyond the standard timeframe. If this occurs, you will be notified and your inspection rescheduled.
Note: Appointments cannot be scheduled for specific times.
Requirements Documents
- Permit and stamped plans must be posted on-site and are required for inspection. Failure to comply may result in a failed inspection.
- The contractor must maintain the permit packet to ensure copies of all inspections are included.
Access Requirements
- If inspection requires entry into a restricted area, an individual 18 years of age or older must be present to provide access. If no adult is available or the property is inaccessible, the inspection will automatically fail, and additional fees may apply.
Inspection Results
- Inspection results are left on-site by the inspector.
- The contractors must refer to the inspection ticket for results. If the contractor's office requires inspection results, it is the responsibility of the contractor to update their office.
- Contractors can register online to review permit status and inspection results, and to make payments via Murphy, TX - Municipal Online Services.
Re-Inspection Fees
- Fees must be paid before an inspection can be scheduled.
- If your project has outstanding fees, you will receive an email notification. You must make payment and submit a new inspection request once payment is complete.
Combination Inspections
The following inspections are processed as combination inspections and should be scheduled together:
- Frame (Seconds Inspection): Frame, electric rough, mechanical rough, and plumbing top out.
- Electric Meter and Gas Meter
- Ceiling: Electric ceiling, mechanical ceiling, and plumbing ceiling.
- Finals: Electric final, mechanical final, plumbing final, and building final.
