2024 version of Tunes, Tails, and Ales fest suspended

Organizers look to present different festival next year

MURPHY (February 8, 2024) As a regrettable result of several unfortunate conditions, the 2024 version of the City of Murphy’s Tunes, Tails, and Ales craft beer festival has been suspended and the festival will no longer be held in the future. Organizers hope to bring some type of community festival back in the spring of 2025.

Begun in 2016, the Tunes, Tails, and Ales craft beer festival, normally held in May of each year, grew exponentially both in popularity within the local community and in reputation among craft beer aficionados.

Held on the grounds of Murphy Central Park, the festival’s name was derived from the combination of live music, the availability of plentiful crawfish, and the opportunity for participants to sample flights of craft beers from local and area brewers.

“We have been unable to avoid the conditions that have played into this unfortunate decision,” said Ashley Hudson, Murphy’s Special Events Coordinator. “We know many people, both participants and brewers, looked forward to this event every year, and we understand their disappointment. Our plan is to bring some sort of festival-type activity during the spring of next year.”

Organizers expressed their appreciation to all of the sponsors that have stepped up throughout the festival’s run, as well as the brewers, participants, and vendors.
