Rainbow Trout Roundup is a fun and competitive youth fishing tournament for anglers 17 and under, welcoming all experience levels. Young anglers will enjoy a positive tournament atmosphere focused on learning, sportsmanship, and outdoor fun.

Participants will compete for prizes in three tournament categories: shortest trout, longest trout, and heaviest stringer of five. Whether it’s a first cast or a personal best, this event is all about friendly competition, big smiles, and great memories on the water.

Event is free for all to attend.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

9:30 AM – Check-in/Registration Opens

10:00-11:00 AM – 0-6 YRS

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM – 7-12 YRS

12:00-1:00 PM – 13-17 YRS

Awards will follow directly after each age group.

PARKING

Parking will be located at Murphy City Hall Complex - 206 N Murphy Rd.

  • Coolers, buckets, and lawn chairs are encouraged. Canopies/tents are prohibited.
  • Dogs must remain on leash.

Kid-only fishing from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM. Fishing before 10:00 AM is strictly prohibited. Texas Parks and Wildlife issues an exemption for anglers 17 and older from 1:00 PM-5:00 PM. 

Fishing after 5:00 PM could result in a ticket from a game warden.
