Credit Cards

Dear Customer,

We appreciate your participation in the recurring payment program. In September, after thorough review and discussion, the City Council approved a 2% fee for all credit card payments, including utility bills. The fee was adopted, to recover the charge paid by the City to its card processing vendor for online payments. The City’s vendor charges the processing fee for both credit and debit card payments. When used for online payment through the City’s system, a debit card is processed as a credit card payment. The purpose of this letter is to notify you of your options, which are:

  • 1. If you choose to continue in the recurring payment program a. with the card on file, sign and date where indicated below authorizing the 2% fee to be charged b. with a different credit or debit card, complete the right side of the enclosed form, sign and date c. using an auto bank draft, complete the left side of the enclosed form, sign and date [NOTE: there is no additional fee charged for auto bank drafts]
  • 2. If you choose to opt out of the recurring payment altogether a. Sign and date where indicated below
  • 3. If you choose to do nothing, the 2% fee will automatic be added to your bill for payments beginning on November 16, 2018 and will continue to be added each month as long as you continue to participate in the recurring payment program.

All responses are due to Customer Service BY NOVEMBER 12, 2018.
