Outdoor Warning Siren

Outdoor Warning Siren

"New Outdoor Warning Siren Testing - In the past the sirens were tested on the first Wednesday of the month at 1:00pm. This test consisted of the sirens rotating and emitting the warning sound to ensure proper operation. The new test, beginning immediately, will still consist of the first Wednesday of each month test, and will add a "Silent Test" on every other Wednesday which will consist of the sirens rotating but will only emit a low hum/growling sound.

Please be aware that this low emitting sound is normal for the "Silent Test". We recently upgraded our Outdoor Warning Siren system with new software which provides encryption for system security, and provide the capability to run weekly test automatically to ensure system integrity and operation. These weekly test will also provide us with early notifications of any system failures so they can be addressed in a timely manner.

You may contact the Fire Department at 972-468-4300 with any questions you may have.

Thank you and Be Safe!

Del Albright, Fire Chief/EMC"
